Cornhusks can easily be recycled into houseplant labels with bamboo skewers and a bit of flexible wire. For nice touch at a dinner party, use the labels as place cards, putting each in a small potted plant that guests can take home later. To make the labels, just press the cornhusks in a plant press, or use an iron on a high setting with a pressing cloth to dry them out quickly. Cut the husk to the desired leaf-like shape and write the name of the plant with a fine-point permanent pen. Pinch one end of the husk leaf over the end of a toothpick or skewer and fasten it by twisting some wire around the base of the husk.
