Duke and Bobby Lane's great grandfather was a pioneer in the Georgia peach business back in 1908. Now they're the fourth generation growing more than 30 varieties of peaches and caring for 250,000 trees.
The process of bringing peaches from the field to the marketplace is labor intensive. Young trees need to be trained and nurtured for three years before they begin to bear fruit. During the harvest season, each tree will be hand-picked up to four times to ensure that all the peaches are captured at just the right moment of ripeness.
