Master gardeners, landscape designers and authors of "Our Life In Gardens," Wayne Winterrowd and Joe Eck, take pride in North Hill Garden in Vermont. Considered one of the finest private gardens in North America, it is their vegetable garden that they consider to be the heart of their property. While the main gardens follow the flow of the land, the vegetable gardens are formal. It is the place where they work the hardest but also find the greatest peace; growing heirloom tomatoes, peas, currants, as well as salad greens, nourishing their souls as well as their bodies.
