Tool Sculpture Garden

If there was ever an afterlife for tools it is certainly with Jill Nooney and Bob Munger at Bedrock Gardens in Lee New Hampshire. Together over the last twenty years they have turned junkyard finds into fine garden art and built a twenty acre garden to display their creations. Their humor, kindness and good energy comes through in every quirky piece welcoming you into their world of rusty metal characters you will not want to leave behind.
Agreeable birds greet you with nodding spring necks and beaks made from the teeth of backhoe shovels. Warm brown totems all neatly stacked stand guard at the ends of hedges with whirly gig gears and rusty wood stove doors. Low slow turtles gather on bedrock outcroppings warming their steel shells in the sun. As you wonder through the garden you might take shelter beneath a shady arbor to sit in swivel chairs made from various parts of hay bailing equipment while you gaze down the "Wiggle Waggle" waterway that splits the garden.

Bedrock Gardens began in Jill and Bob's imagination and grew into a reality that is a treasure in this sleepy New Hampshire community. Its visitors come back again and again from near and far pick-nicking on the lawn and joining in for seasonal festivities with music and various forms of entertainment. Many of the gardens sculptural inhabitants make permanent homes here but others are fly by night and will travel to your home if you are lucky enough to catch one.
